45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Brandon Taylor, a junior at Rockwall High School,
67 has received the President's Gold Volunteer Service Award in
78 recognition of his efforts to promote interest in STEM fields; and
89 WHEREAS, The President's Volunteer Service Award celebrates
910 individuals who have given generously of their time and talents to
1011 improve their communities and enhance quality of life for their
1112 fellow citizens; recipients must perform more than 250 hours of
1213 service within a 12-month period; and
1314 WHEREAS, While Mr. Taylor participated in several charitable
1415 programs, he earned the majority of his hours by sharing his passion
1516 for robotics with area elementary and middle school students; a
1617 member of the Rockwall High robotics team, he volunteered as a judge
1718 for local competitions and took part in summer camps through the
1819 YMCA and ROCK; and
1920 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated
2021 remarkable initiative and dedication, and he is a source of great
2122 pride to his school and his community; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon Taylor on his receipt of
2425 the President's Gold Volunteer Service Award and extend to him
2526 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2627 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2728 prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2829 House of Representatives.
