5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A caring and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of Darleene Joy Warren of Galveston on January 26, 2017, at |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The former "Dolly" Feinberg was born to George and |

9 | 10 | | Frances Feinberg on March 27, 1941; this esteemed Texan found a |
---|
10 | 11 | | loving life partner in her husband, Dr. Michael Warren, and she |
---|
11 | 12 | | took great pride in her three children, Debbie, Robert, and Leslie, |
---|
12 | 13 | | as well as her four grandchildren, Sophia, Daniel, Julia, and |
---|
13 | 14 | | Payton; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A dedicated civic leader, Mrs. Warren founded |
---|
15 | 16 | | D'feet Breast Cancer, a nonprofit organization that has provided |
---|
16 | 17 | | more than 10,000 mammograms to uninsured and underserved women in |
---|
17 | 18 | | Galveston County; she was also highly active at The University of |
---|
18 | 19 | | Texas Medical Branch, where she restarted the Faculty Women's Club |
---|
19 | 20 | | and served as president of the Hospital Auxiliary, as an adviser to |
---|
20 | 21 | | Medical Dames, and as a member of the School of Nursing Advisory |
---|
21 | 22 | | Board; and |
---|
22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Other organizations to benefit from her involvement |
---|
23 | 24 | | were the Friends of Moody Gardens, the Galveston Historical |
---|
24 | 25 | | Foundation Homes Tour, and the Hospice Care Team; she was president |
---|
25 | 26 | | of the Temple B'nai Israel Sisterhood and sat on the temple's board |
---|
26 | 27 | | of directors, and she volunteered as a docent at the Moody Mansion; |
---|
27 | 28 | | in her spare time, she became a bridge life master and taught the |
---|
28 | 29 | | game to students in La Marque and Galveston; and |
---|
29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family and her community, |
---|
30 | 31 | | Dolly Warren made a meaningful difference in the lives of her loved |
---|
31 | 32 | | ones and fellow citizens alike, and her contributions will be |
---|
32 | 33 | | fondly remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
---|
33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Darleene Joy Warren |

35 | 36 | | and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be |
