| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Gloria Helfman-Nasissi on August 23, 2016, at the age of |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 24, 1927, |

| 9 | 10 | | Ms. Helfman-Nasissi lived most of her life in New York City, but she |

| 10 | 11 | | eventually moved to Atlanta, then later to Houston, to be closer to |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | her cherished grandchildren, who were her pride and joy; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Helfman-Nasissi had the pleasure of sharing |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | many precious memories over the years with her beloved family; at |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the time of her passing, she was survived by her five children, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Janice Zimmer, Lenore Sotelo, Leah Melamed, Joyce Helfman, and |

| 16 | 17 | | David Helfman, her 10 grandchildren, Dennis Fedechko, Nicole |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Lettiere, Maayan, Daniel, and Arielle Melamed, Jamie, Hannah, and |

| 18 | 19 | | Abigail Klein, and Ethan and Ronnie Helfman, as well as six |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | great-grandchildren; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, Gloria |

| 21 | 22 | | Helfman-Nasissi left an indelible impression on all those who were |

| 22 | 23 | | fortunate enough to know her, and she will hold a treasured place in |

| 23 | 24 | | their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gloria |
