45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Lubbock has greatly benefited from the committed
67 leadership of the Honorable Glen Robertson, who served two terms as
78 the city's mayor; and
89 WHEREAS, First elected on May 12, 2012, Mayor Robertson
910 dedicated himself to promoting Lubbock as a business-friendly
1011 community, working to strengthen relationships between the city and
1112 companies and industries both within the region and throughout the
1213 United States; his efforts were rewarded with steady job creation
1314 and economic growth in the area; and
1415 WHEREAS, Mayor Robertson made the improvement of the city's
1516 utilities and infrastructure one of his priorities, and he
1617 staunchly supported the decision by Lubbock Power & Light to seek
1718 membership in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas; he also
1819 strongly advocated for the realization of the Texas Loop 88 project
1920 in order to continue meeting the city's growing traffic needs; and
2021 WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
2122 life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts
2223 of Glen Robertson have helped to make Lubbock an even better place
2324 in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Glen Robertson for his
2627 exemplary public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2728 the future; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Mayor Robertson as an expression of high regard by the
3031 Texas House of Representatives.
