| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Officially established in 1988, the TAAACC can trace |

| 9 | 10 | | its roots to the 1920s, when the Dallas Negro Chamber of Commerce |

| 10 | 11 | | was formed to facilitate the participation of African American |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | business owners in the economic mainstream; the TAAACC today is a |

| 12 | 13 | | statewide network of African American chambers of commerce, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | representing more than 10,000 members and serving as the voice for |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | over 200,000 businesses; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The association educates members about laws and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | regulations that could impact businesses, and it works within the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | legislative process to ensure equal opportunities for African |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | American enterprises; moreover, it coordinates with leaders in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | government and the corporate world to promote diversity and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | inclusiveness, and it supports policies that expand access to |

| 21 | 22 | | achieving economic prosperity; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Association of African American Chambers |
