| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, An initiative of the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce, |

| 9 | 10 | | Leadership Midlothian is an annual program for professionals and |

| 10 | 11 | | citizens who wish to become involved in their community; over a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | nine-month period, participants learn about education, industry, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | health care, and the local legal system and are trained to become |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | tomorrow's leaders; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Midlothian consider critical |

| 15 | 16 | | issues facing their city and are instructed by principal figures in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | both the public and private sectors; moreover, those taking part in |

| 17 | 18 | | the program benefit from opportunities to forge closer ties with |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | fellow citizens and to learn how to successfully create change in |
