| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Colton Engle of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 181 |

| 6 | 7 | | in Lumberton has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor |

| 9 | 10 | | bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |

| 10 | 11 | | movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |

| 11 | 12 | | Mr. Engle earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully |

| 12 | 13 | | completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |

| 14 | 15 | | leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |

| 15 | 16 | | respect and admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked |

| 16 | 17 | | toward the highest rank that the organization offers; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A senior at Lumberton High School, Mr. Engle has |

| 18 | 19 | | further distinguished himself by playing tuba in the school band, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | serving as senior class president, and participating in choir, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | theater, and the National Honor Society; after graduation, he plans |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | to serve with the U.S. Coast Guard before pursuing a career as a |

| 22 | 23 | | history professor; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Engle's dedication to excellence and his |

| 24 | 25 | | perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |

| 25 | 26 | | stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |

| 26 | 27 | | on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
