9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Oklahoma State University in |

10 | 11 | | 1979, Craig Yenzer gained experience as a teacher and coach at |

11 | 12 | | schools in Guthrie, Newkirk, and Tuttle, Oklahoma; his involvement |
---|
12 | 13 | | in Texas high school football began when he was hired at Hereford |

13 | 14 | | High School; he served as an assistant coach for a decade before |
---|
14 | 15 | | being promoted to head coach and athletic director, and his tenure |
---|
15 | 16 | | was highlighted by his team's appearance in the 4A Division 1 state |
---|
16 | 17 | | title game in 1999; and |

17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Yenzer took over as the Midland High head coach |

18 | 19 | | in 2002, and during his inaugural season, he piloted the Bulldogs |
---|
19 | 20 | | not only to their first postseason berth in more than half a century |
---|
20 | 21 | | but also to an appearance in the state finals; the longest-serving |
---|
21 | 22 | | and winningest head football coach in school history, he has |
---|
22 | 23 | | compiled an impressive overall record of 103 wins and 70 losses and |
---|
23 | 24 | | taken his team to the playoffs in 10 of his 15 seasons with Midland; |

24 | 25 | | in addition, 72 of his student-athletes have gone on to play |
---|
25 | 26 | | football at the collegiate level; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through his vision and leadership, Craig Yenzer has |

27 | 28 | | helped build a proud tradition of gridiron excellence at Midland |

28 | 29 | | High School, and he may reflect with pride on his many achievements |

29 | 30 | | as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
