| 6 | 7 | | are gathering in Austin on March 8, 2017, to celebrate Fort Bend |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This year's noteworthy event is being presented by |

| 9 | 10 | | the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance, the Fort Bend Chamber of |

| 10 | 11 | | Commerce, the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Fort Bend Economic Development Council; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Centered around the cities of Richmond, Rosenberg, |

| 13 | 14 | | and Fulshear, the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance works to |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | develop programs that bring about economic growth and employment |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | opportunities, as well as an overall improvement in the quality of |

| 16 | 17 | | life for area residents; the alliance promotes local businesses and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | provides them with a united voice while working with other |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | organizations and local government; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce is the largest |

| 20 | 21 | | single-county chamber in the Houston area, and its more than 1,200 |

| 21 | 22 | | member companies and organizations work together to advocate for |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | business excellence while promoting tourism and the well-being of |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | the community; the group is one of only one percent of the chambers |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | of commerce in the United States to receive a five-star |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The rapidly growing population of Fulshear is |

| 27 | 28 | | represented by the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce, which works |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | to help the city's businesses prosper and thrive in a dynamic |

| 29 | 30 | | environment by contributing to the community and building |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | connections among its members; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, The Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council, |

| 32 | 33 | | which was established in 1986, is a public-private partnership |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | dedicated to promoting commercial development and economic |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | vitality; it provides a wealth of information about the advantages |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | of Fort Bend County to businesses seeking to relocate or expand |
|---|
| 36 | 37 | | operations there; and |

| 37 | 38 | | WHEREAS, The vision and leadership provided by these four |
|---|
| 38 | 39 | | organizations have a positive and energizing influence on this |
|---|
| 39 | 40 | | fast-growing region of the Lone Star State, and their members are to |

| 40 | 41 | | be commended for their support of their communities; now, |

| 42 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 43 | 44 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 8, 2017, as Fort Bend County Day |
