| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1989, the Women of Excellence awards |

| 9 | 10 | | honor individuals for their contributions as leaders and |

| 10 | 11 | | volunteers, highlighting the vital roles that women play in civic |

| 11 | 12 | | and professional endeavors in the Lubbock area; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, With more than 30 years of experience in the banking |

| 13 | 14 | | industry, Ms. Ellis-Roach is currently a senior vice president and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | mortgage lender at PrimeWest Mortgage; she oversees the operations |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | of one of the top mortgage lending teams in Lubbock, and she has |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | been named a Top Producer by the Texas Mortgage Bankers |

| 17 | 18 | | Association; moreover, she has served on the FirstBank & Trust |

| 18 | 19 | | Executive Committee and the West Texas Home Builders Association |

| 19 | 20 | | Board of Directors; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Ellis-Roach also gives generously of her time |

| 21 | 22 | | and talents to a number of civic organizations, including the New |

| 22 | 23 | | Legacy Home for Women, the Lubbock Parade of Homes Committee, and |

| 23 | 24 | | the American Diabetes Association; she co-chaired the local Go Red |

| 24 | 25 | | for Women campaign in 2012, which raised $75,000 for the American |

| 25 | 26 | | Heart Association, and took part in the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce |

| 26 | 27 | | Total Resource Campaign, which obtained more than $200,000 in |

| 27 | 28 | | sponsorships; in addition, she was a member of the city's bond |

| 28 | 29 | | election citizens advisory committee in 2012; and |

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, With her receipt of a Women of Excellence award, |

| 30 | 31 | | Phebe Ellis-Roach joins an elite group of women who have been |
