H.R. No. 469
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Anna Jackson is being recognized with the Education
Award by the YWCA of Lubbock at its annual Women of Excellence
reception on March 9, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Created in 1989, the Women of Excellence awards
honor individuals for their contributions as leaders and
volunteers, highlighting the vital role that women play in civic
and professional endeavors in the Lubbock area; and
WHEREAS, Anna Jackson is the executive director of leadership
and professional development for the Lubbock Independent School
District, and over the course of her career in education, she has
worked as a teacher, counselor, behavior specialist, and
administrator; during her tenure with Lubbock ISD, she has helped
develop the Students Obtaining Success program, and she has led the
district in implementing positive behavioral interventions and
supports across its campuses; and
WHEREAS, With her receipt of a Women of Excellence award,
Anna Jackson joins an elite group of women who have been honored by
the YWCA of Lubbock, and she is indeed a worthy role model for this
and future generations; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Anna Jackson on receiving a 2017
Women of Excellence award from the YWCA of Lubbock and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
