| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The education of our children is vital to the future |

| 6 | 7 | | of the Lone Star State, and Amy Pruitt, a first-grade teacher for |

| 7 | 8 | | the Hutto Independent School District, is one of the many |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | outstanding educators who play an integral role in this important |

| 9 | 10 | | endeavor; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Columbia International University, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Ms. Pruitt has dedicated 17 years to teaching at the kindergarten, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | first- and second-grade levels; before joining the faculty at Hutto |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | ISD, she worked in North Carolina, for the Leander Independent |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | School District, and at Gateway Charter School; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, For the past six years, Ms. Pruitt has taught Hutto |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | first graders, and she also serves as a grade-level coach; her |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | exceptional work earned her the title of Teacher of the Year for the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | 2010-2011 academic year; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Pruitt has enjoyed the |

| 20 | 21 | | love and support of her husband, Bobby, and her three children, |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Riley, Beau, and Emma Grace; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Amy Pruitt exemplifies the dedication, enthusiasm, |

| 23 | 24 | | and spirit of service that are the hallmarks of a great teacher, and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | she is indeed an inspiration to her students and fellow educators |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | alike; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature commend Amy Pruitt of the Hutto Independent School |

| 28 | 29 | | District for her commitment to educating future generations of |
