| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Independent School District has |

| 6 | 7 | | been named to the seventh annual AP District Honor Roll by the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Inclusion on this honor roll is based on an |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | examination of AP data covering the period from 2014 through 2016; |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | to qualify for this distinction, a district must have increased |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | advanced placement course access for underrepresented students |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | while also maintaining or improving the percentage of students |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | earning AP exam scores of three or higher; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ably guided by superintendent Dr. Alex Torrez, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Pflugerville ISD was one of just 22 public school districts in Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | to earn this honor in 2016 and one of only two school districts in |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Central Texas to make the AP District Honor Roll in both 2015 and |

| 18 | 19 | | 2016; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious national recognition is a |

| 20 | 21 | | testament to the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff, and |

| 21 | 22 | | students of Pflugerville ISD, and they may indeed reflect with |

| 22 | 23 | | pride on this achievement as they work together to prepare for the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | challenges and opportunities of the future; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Pflugerville Independent |

| 26 | 27 | | School District on its selection to the seventh annual AP District |

| 27 | 28 | | Honor Roll and commend all those associated with the district for |
