| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The residents of Lewisville lost an admired civic |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Leroy Vaughn graduated with a bachelor's degree in |

| 9 | 10 | | political science and business from the University of North Texas |

| 10 | 11 | | and a master's degree in public affairs from The University of Texas |

| 11 | 12 | | at Austin; he subsequently enjoyed a career with the City of Davis, |

| 12 | 13 | | California, that spanned nearly two decades, working as a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | firefighter, fire inspector, arson investigator, and building |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | inspector; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, After relocating to Lewisville, Mr. Vaughn served |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | the community as a member of the Transportation Board, the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Community Development Block Grants Advisory Committee, and the 2010 |

| 18 | 19 | | Goals Committee, and he also volunteered as a benefits counselor |

| 19 | 20 | | for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Vaughn was elected as the Place 1 representative |

| 21 | 22 | | on the Lewisville City Council in 2011, and during his time in |

| 22 | 23 | | office, he held the positions of mayor pro tem and deputy mayor pro |

| 23 | 24 | | tem; moreover, he represented the municipal government in the |

| 24 | 25 | | National League of Cities, where he was a member of the Finance, |

| 25 | 26 | | Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations Steering |

| 26 | 27 | | Committee, and he was appointed to the Emergency Preparedness |

| 27 | 28 | | Planning Council for the North Central Texas Council of |

| 28 | 29 | | Governments; in addition to his work as a public official, he was |

| 29 | 30 | | the owner of Voninamillion Home Solutions, a real estate investment |

| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Leroy Vaughn made |

| 32 | 33 | | a meaningful difference in the lives of his fellow citizens, and his |

| 34 | 35 | | had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it |
