| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed |

| 6 | 7 | | cause for celebration, and Florence Roberta Key Fisher of Austin is |
|---|
| 7 | 8 | | marking this significant milestone in her life on March 1, 2017; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of George and Mae Key, the former |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | Florence Key was born in Raymondville in 1927; she graduated from |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Port Lavaca High School in 1945 and on October 6 of that year, she |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | married her high school sweetheart, Charles Edward Fisher; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Fisher worked at the Calhoun County Clerk's |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Office for a time, and in 1968, she founded Shoreline Dredging and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Construction with her husband; she was employed as a bookkeeper at |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Calhoun High School for 26 years before her retirement in 1989; the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Fishers sold their business in 1993; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Fisher has known the joy of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | welcoming into her treasured family two sons, Jon Keith Fisher and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Eddie Ross Fisher, along with six grandchildren and seven |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | great-grandchildren; she and her husband shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | marriage until his passing in February 2003; later that year, after |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Hurricane Claudette hit Port Lavaca, she moved to Austin to be |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | closer to her sons and their children; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Florence Fisher has witnessed a panorama of change |

| 25 | 26 | | over the course of nine decades, and she has met life's challenges |

| 26 | 27 | | and opportunities with dignity and grace, earning the deep |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | admiration of all who are privileged to know her; now, therefore, be |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
