| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Hochheim Prairie Insurance is celebrating its 125th |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In 1892, German settlers from the rural farmlands |

| 8 | 9 | | known as the Hochheim Prairie community organized a mutual |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | insurance alliance, electing officers and initially insuring the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | homes of 30 families; the company was subsequently chartered as the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Hochheim Prairie Mutual Fire and Storm Association; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Renamed the Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance |

| 13 | 14 | | Association in 1973, that firm has since been joined by several |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | subsidiaries; this group of companies, headquartered in Yoakum, is |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | today represented by more than 200 independent agents who serve |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | over 90,000 members across the state; Hochheim Prairie now provides |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | insurance coverage for homes, farms, ranches, manufactured homes, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | personal property, automobiles, small businesses, and liability, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | with written premiums exceeding $125 million; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The association is currently led by president Linda |

| 21 | 22 | | Schmidt, its first female president and one of the few women to |

| 22 | 23 | | direct a Texas insurance company; Lynn Brewer, Pam Lahodny, Tim |

| 23 | 24 | | McCoy, and David Weber serve as officers, while the board of |

| 24 | 25 | | directors is composed of David Ross, Wayne Scholtz, Tommy Barre, |

| 25 | 26 | | Steve Klovensky, David Mueller, David French, Brian Gibson, Randy |

| 26 | 27 | | Leifeste, and Randal Hamilton; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, For well over a century, Hochheim Prairie Insurance |

| 29 | 30 | | catastrophic financial loss, and it is indeed fitting that it be |
