| 10 | 11 | | demonstrated excellence in specific areas of achievement; since its |

| 11 | 12 | | inception in 1988, hundreds of young men and women have been |

| 12 | 13 | | selected for this prestigious honor, and each of the 2016 winners |

| 13 | 14 | | received a $1,000 scholarship to help fund their college studies; |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The son of Lynn and Marc Bane, Jack Bane is a senior |

| 16 | 17 | | at Richard King High School, where he swims, runs cross-country, |

| 17 | 18 | | and participates in Science Olympiad; he is also president of his |

| 18 | 19 | | school's National Honor Society and a member of the Spanish Honor |

| 19 | 20 | | Society; ranked second in his class of 407 students, he has |

| 20 | 21 | | maintained an impressive 4.79 grade point average while taking dual |

| 21 | 22 | | credit courses at Del Mar College; moreover, he holds a pilot's |

| 22 | 23 | | license and is certified to fly single-engine and glider airplanes; |

| 23 | 24 | | after graduation, he plans to study biology or biochemistry as he |

| 24 | 25 | | works toward a career in medicine; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has pursued his goals |

| 26 | 27 | | with tremendous dedication, and he may take great pride in all that |

| 27 | 28 | | he has accomplished as he looks ahead to a future bright with |
