| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Nick Dixon, mayor of Mont Belvieu, was |

| 7 | 8 | | Chamber of Commerce at the chamber's 32nd annual awards banquet; |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan served as a Mont Belvieu city |

| 10 | 11 | | council member for a total of seven years before filling the vacant |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | mayoral office in April 2004; since that time, he has won election |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | to five consecutive terms, making him the longest-serving mayor in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the city's history; like all members of the city council, he serves |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | on that body without compensation; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, During Mayor Dixon's tenure, the population of Mont |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Belvieu has tripled, and in 2013, the community successfully |

| 17 | 18 | | transitioned from being a general law city to a home rule city; |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | moreover, a wave of industrial expansion, which is expected to |

| 19 | 20 | | increase the city's tax base by an estimated $5 billion, has |

| 20 | 21 | | occurred on his watch; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mayor Dixon enjoys the love |

| 22 | 23 | | and encouragement of his wife of 42 years, Loretta, his daughter, |

| 23 | 24 | | Jennifer, and her husband, Antonio, and three granddaughters, |

| 24 | 25 | | Abigail, Leah, and Julia; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The selfless efforts of community leaders help to |

| 26 | 27 | | improve the lives of their fellow citizens, and through his nearly |

| 27 | 28 | | two decades of service to the citizens of Mont Belvieu, Nick Dixon |
