45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Minister Mariah L. Willis is serving as Pastor of
67 the Day for the Texas House of Representatives on May 5, 2017; and
78 WHEREAS, A licensed minister of The Potter's House of Dallas
89 under the leadership of Bishop T. D. Jakes, Minister Willis has
910 focused her efforts on local and international missionary work,
1011 including medical and philanthropic projects in Guatemala, Guyana,
1112 and Mexico; moreover, she is certified in advanced biblical
1213 counseling from the American Association of Christian Counselors;
1314 and
1415 WHEREAS, Minister Willis's dedication to serving others also
1516 informs her practice as a speech and language pathologist in the
1617 Dallas-Fort Worth area; this esteemed Texan holds bachelor's and
1718 master's degrees in speech and language disorders from West Texas
1819 A&M University; and
1920 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mariah Willis has inspired
2021 countless Texans with her message of faith, hope, and love, and we
2122 are indeed fortunate to have her with us today; now, therefore, be
2223 it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby recognize Minister Mariah L. Willis as Pastor of
2526 the Day on May 5, 2017, and extend to her sincere best wishes for
2627 continued success in her important work; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Minister Willis as an expression of high regard by the
2930 Texas House of Representatives.
