| 8 | 9 | | for Texans to join forces with individuals in thousands of other |

| 9 | 10 | | towns and cities across the country to promote cooperative crime |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Commemorated through neighborhood gatherings, |

| 12 | 13 | | cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, and other activities, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | National Night Out helps to build community cohesiveness, |

| 14 | 15 | | strengthen relations between residents and local police, and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | increase awareness of anticrime strategies, while sending a message |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The importance of reducing crime, drug use, and |
