 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
 memories of Sergeant William Karl Keesee of the Texas Department of
 Public Safety, who died in the line of duty on October 29, 2015, at
 the age of 49; and
 WHEREAS, Born on April 29, 1966, in Brownwood to Johnny and
 Merle Keesee, Karl Keesee was a graduate of Brownwood High School;
 he married the former Darla Boyd on June 8, 1985, and the couple
 were blessed with two children, Karesa and Karlton; and
 WHEREAS, Sergeant Keesee dedicated 25 years of service to the
 Department of Public Safety; he was a certified crash
 reconstructionist, recognized by the judicial system as an expert
 witness on crash reconstruction, and he also worked as a crash
 school instructor and a field training officer; over the years, he
 was the recipient of numerous honors from the department, including
 a Texas Highway Patrol Division Chief award for his response to a
 life-threatening situation, and he was posthumously recognized by
 Governor Greg Abbott with a 2016 Star of Texas award; and
 WHEREAS, Sergeant Keesee was a lifelong resident of Brownwood
 and a valued congregant of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ; a
 humble man admired for his wisdom and humor, he went out of his way
 to help those in need, and he touched the lives of many people
 through his work in law enforcement; in his leisure hours, he
 enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing things around the house, and
 spending time with his family, whom he cherished above all else; and
 WHEREAS, Karl Keesee lived an honorable life of service to
 his fellow Texans, and he will always be remembered with deep
 affection by those who held him close to their hearts; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sergeant William
 Karl Keesee and extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn his
 passing; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns on this day, it do so in memory of Karl
 Keesee.
