H.R. No. 653 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their memories of Silvestra Romo Ramirez of Robstown, who passed away on January 23, 2017, at the age of 96; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Jose and Francisca Romo, the former Silvestra Romo was born in Robstown on December 31, 1920, and grew up with the companionship of four sisters, Rosa, Alicia, Olivia, and Evangelina; she enjoyed a rewarding union with her husband, Juan Ramirez Sr., until his passing in 1971; predeceased also by her son, Juan Ramirez Jr., Mrs. Ramirez is survived by her children, Pedro Ramirez and his wife, Stella, Armando Ramirez and his wife, Sylvia, Margarita Herrera, Maria Castillo, Olga Martinez and her husband, Andres, Aurora Paredez and her husband, Juan, and Jose Gavino Ramirez and his wife, Marta, as well as by 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Ramirez was a valued parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she was an active member of such groups as Catholic Daughters of America, the Columbian Ladies, and the Marianas; and WHEREAS, Silvestra Ramirez lived a full and generous life centered on her loved ones and her deep faith, and she will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Silvestra Romo Ramirez and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Silvestra Romo Ramirez.
