H.R. No. 688
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, June Davenport was presented with a Proud You're a
Picker Award by the Robstown Independent School District in January
2017; and
WHEREAS, This accolade is given to district employees who
have gone above and beyond their usual responsibilities in order to
help a student, parent, volunteer, community member, or colleague;
and
WHEREAS, A librarian at San Pedro Elementary School, June
Davenport has been employed with Robstown ISD for 30 years;
passionate about her work, she has earned the admiration of her
colleagues for her commitment to helping young people acquire a
love of reading, and she routinely goes out of her way during her
off-duty hours to collect books for the students at her school; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals who give generously of their time
and talents strengthen the organizations in which they work, and it
is a pleasure to recognize this dedicated professional for her
contributions to Robstown ISD; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate June Davenport on her receipt of a
Proud You're a Picker Award from the Robstown Independent School
District and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Davenport as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
