H.R. No. 700 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Brady Jones of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 451 in Lewisville has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Jones earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully completed an ambitious Eagle Scout project, which involved constructing a SWAT training conex box for the Lewisville Police Department; in addition to helping weld, paint, and otherwise build the structure, he and his troop had to raise approximately $3,000 to cover the cost of the materials; and WHEREAS, The son of Shannon Anderson, this fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked toward the highest rank that the organization offers; and WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout Jones worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Brady Jones on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
