5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of James Murray Hoult of Tarrant County on November 6, 2016, |

7 | 8 | | at the age of 67; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jean Massie and James Herbert Hoult, |
---|
9 | 10 | | Murray Hoult was born on December 31, 1948, in Toronto, Canada, and |
---|
10 | 11 | | raised in Torrance, California; he enlisted in the United States |
---|
11 | 12 | | Air Force in 1969, and while stationed in Sacramento, he met his |
---|
12 | 13 | | future wife, Cindy, with whom he went on to share more than 45 years |
---|
13 | 14 | | of marriage; in 1983, the couple were blessed with a beloved son, |
---|
14 | 15 | | Jimmy, and they later welcomed into their family two precious |
---|
15 | 16 | | grandchildren, Caroline and William; and |
---|
16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, After serving his country for four years, Mr. Hoult |
---|
17 | 18 | | was granted American citizenship, an accomplishment in which he |
---|
18 | 19 | | took great pride; he devoted a total of 35 years to the air force as |
---|
19 | 20 | | both an active member and reservist, and he was deployed numerous |
---|
20 | 21 | | times; along the way, he attained the highest noncommissioned |
---|
21 | 22 | | officer rank of chief master sergeant and was honored as Reservist |
---|
22 | 23 | | of the Year in 2001 at a ceremony held at the Pentagon; in addition |
---|
23 | 24 | | to pursuing a career in the military, he worked as a civilian for |
---|
24 | 25 | | the Department of Defense for 32 years, retiring as a chief |
---|
25 | 26 | | contracting officer; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, With the free time that retirement afforded him, |
---|
27 | 28 | | Mr. Hoult enjoyed taking cruises and other vacations with his wife |
---|
28 | 29 | | and their longtime friends; he took pleasure in golfing, and he also |
---|
29 | 30 | | stayed active by working on projects around the house, which |
---|
30 | 31 | | included building a doll crib and a workbench for the family's |
---|
31 | 32 | | youngest members; and |
---|
32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Murray Hoult achieved a life that was rich in |
---|
33 | 34 | | family, friends, and meaningful achievements, and although he is |
---|
34 | 35 | | deeply missed, he leaves behind a wealth of memories that will |
---|
35 | 36 | | forever be cherished by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, |
---|
36 | 37 | | be it |

37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

38 | 39 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Murray Hoult and |

39 | 40 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |

40 | 41 | | Cindy Hoult; to his son, Jimmy Hoult; to his grandchildren, |

41 | 42 | | Caroline and William; to his sister, Lynda DeHaan; to his brother, |
