| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |

| 7 | 8 | | of Carol Ann Watson Hinds of Waxahachie, who passed away on February |

| 8 | 9 | | 15, 2017, at the age of 83; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born on November 1, 1933, in Italy, Texas, the |

| 10 | 11 | | former Carol Ann Watson was the daughter of Elvis and Myrtle Watson; |

| 11 | 12 | | after graduating from Italy High School in 1950, she earned her |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | bachelor's degree in psychology from The University of Texas at |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Dallas in 1985 and went on to complete the course requirements for a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | master's degree in psychology; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, She exchanged wedding vows with Don Hinds on |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | December 26, 1953, and the couple shared a rewarding marriage |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | before his passing; Mrs. Hinds worked for Hunt Oil in the late |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | 1950s, and in 1960, she left paid employment to fully devote herself |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | to her home and family, which grew to include three sons, Clay, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Vance, and Jarrett; through the years, she was further blessed with |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Jacob, Taylor, Chesley, Emma, Don, |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | and Madeleine, as well as two great-grandchildren, Jett and Jaci; |
|---|

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This vibrant, gracious woman was an avid bridge |

| 25 | 26 | | player who achieved life master status with the American Contract |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Bridge League, and she also had a passion for reading and horse |

| 27 | 28 | | racing; she was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Waxahachie, and she always cherished the time she spent with her |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | beloved friends and family; and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Treasured for her kindness and generosity, Carol Ann |

| 31 | 32 | | Hinds made an indelible impression on all who shared in the warmth |

| 32 | 33 | | of her affection, and they will forever hold her close to their |

| 33 | 34 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 35 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carol Ann Watson Hinds |
