45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
67 of Bryan Kent Stewart of Lake Jackson, who passed away on October
78 29, 2015, at the age of 47; and
89 WHEREAS, Bryan Stewart was born on March 30, 1968, in
910 Holdenville, Oklahoma; he graduated from the University of Oklahoma
1011 in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and he
1112 remained an ardent Sooner fan throughout his life; and
1213 WHEREAS, Mr. Stewart began his career in 1990, when he took a
1314 position as an intern with the BASF Corporation; he went on to work
1415 at the company's Freeport site for the next 25 years, with
1516 assignments in research and development, environmental health and
1617 safety, and super absorbent polymers; he served for seven years as
1718 the Texas hub safety leader, and he had recently earned promotion to
1819 SAP senior production manager; and
1920 WHEREAS, Active in the Boy Scouts of America, Mr. Stewart
2021 touched countless lives as a Scout leader for Troop No. 394 in Lake
2122 Jackson; he also led the BASF aquatics program at Camp Karankawa,
2223 where he shared his passion for the outdoors with his coworkers; he
2324 had often spoken of his desire to improve access to the camp, and
2425 after his passing, Brazoria County Precinct 4 and BASF collaborated
2526 to refurbish the road, which was named Bryan's Way in his honor; and
2627 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Stewart married Kelly
2728 Anderson on May 18, 1991, and over the course of a rewarding union
2829 that spanned nearly a quarter century, they became the proud
2930 parents of three children, Wyatt, Dylan, and Sarah; sustained by a
3031 deep and abiding faith, Mr. Stewart was a deacon at The Lighthouse
3132 Baptist Church; he also played the drums as part of the church's
3233 praise team and in the BASF band Copper Road; and
3334 WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too
3435 soon, Bryan Stewart embraced life to the fullest, and he will remain
3536 a vibrant presence for those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
3637 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
3738 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Bryan Kent Stewart
3839 and extend sincere condolences to his relatives and many friends;
3940 and, be it further
4041 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4142 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4243 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bryan Kent
4344 Stewart.
