45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Marty
67 Sue Marshall of Rockport, who passed away on February 12, 2017, at
78 the age of 64; and
89 WHEREAS, The daughter of Charlie Marshall and Violet Marshall
910 Duncan, Marty Sue Marshall was born on October 25, 1952, in
1011 Beeville; she attended Aransas Pass High School, where she was a
1112 cheerleader and voted Most Popular, and she remained in the Coastal
1213 Bend area throughout her adult life; working alongside her father
1314 at the family business, Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes and
1415 Crematory, she continued to run the business after his death; and
1516 WHEREAS, Ms. Marshall was devoted to giving back to her
1617 beloved community, and in 2009, she founded the Rockport Rockettes,
1718 a women's organization centered on fellowship and charity; over the
1819 years, she also lent her time and talents to numerous civic groups,
1920 including the Woman's Club of Aransas Pass, the Rockport Center for
2021 the Arts, the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, the Rockport-Fulton
2122 Humane Society Adoption Center, and Aransas County 4-H; and
2223 WHEREAS, Of all her endeavors in life, Ms. Marshall was most
2324 proud of her family, which included her daughters, Bridget Sue
2425 Ramey St. John and Jordan Taylor Marshall, her son-in-law, Bruce
2526 St. John, her stepchildren, Dennis Ramey and his wife, Maria, and
2627 Ralee Dawn Ramey, and her brother, Bill Marshall; and
2728 WHEREAS, Marty Sue Marshall will long be remembered for her
2829 honesty, loyalty, and infectious energy, and her memory will
2930 continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who had the
3031 pleasure of knowing her; now, therefore, be it
3132 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
3233 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Marty Sue Marshall and
3334 extend deepest condolences to her many relatives and friends; and,
3435 be it further
3536 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3637 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3738 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marty Sue
3839 Marshall.
