| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the untimely loss of |

| 6 | 7 | | Steven Paul Fleming of Vernon, who passed away on February 15, 2017, |

| 7 | 8 | | at the age of 42; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Paul and Sandy Fleming, Steve Fleming was |

| 9 | 10 | | born in San Antonio on December 1, 1974; he graduated with a |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Angelo State University and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | went on to earn a master's degree in education from Sul Ross State |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | University; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An admired educator, Mr. Fleming formerly served as |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | an athletic trainer with the Wylie and Vernon Independent School |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Districts; he took on the role of assistant principal for Iowa Park |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | CISD and Vernon ISD, and he ably guided a number of schools as a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | principal in the Olney and Vernon districts; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Fleming enjoyed the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | love and support of his wife, Malinda, whom he married in 1998, and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | he was the proud father of three children, Alli, Austen, and Case; |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | strong in his faith, he was a valued congregant of Calvary Baptist |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Although Steve Fleming will be deeply missed, |

| 24 | 25 | | memories of his kindness, his optimism, and his devotion to his |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | family and his students remain to comfort and inspire those he |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Steven Paul Fleming |
