| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Walter Joseph Carson III of Ballinger on January 24, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Walter and Mary Carson, Walter Joseph |

| 9 | 10 | | Carson III was born on September 3, 1940, in Port Arthur; following |

| 10 | 11 | | his high school graduation, he joined the United States Army, and in |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | 1974 he embarked on a long and rewarding career as an abstractor for |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Surety Title Company; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Carson enjoyed the love and support of his wife, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Carlene, to whom he was married in 2008; he also took great pride in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | his children, Lisa Yates, Walter Joseph "Joey" Carson, Sherry |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Calcote, and Teri Vogler, as well as in his grandchildren and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | great-grandchildren; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan volunteered his time with the |

| 19 | 20 | | Ballinger Rotary Club and the Runnels County Sheriff's Office |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Reserve, and he was known by family and friends for his infectiously |

| 21 | 22 | | optimistic attitude; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, Walter Carson leaves |

| 23 | 24 | | behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by all those who were |

| 24 | 25 | | privileged to share in the richness of his life; now, therefore, be |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Walter Joseph |
