| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This nonprofit corporation was formed in July 2015 |

| 9 | 10 | | through a partnership between the Texas Manufacturing Assistance |

| 10 | 11 | | Center and The University of Texas at Arlington; dedicated to |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | economic development, the organization maintains a statewide |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | network of resource providers that offer technical and business |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | assistance to small- and medium-sized manufacturers; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Consilium is providing valuable support |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | for an essential segment of the state's economy; the manufacturing |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | industry employs nearly 875,000 Texans and ranks highest in the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | nation for manufacturing exports and shipment value; attracted by |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the Texas Wide Open for Business campaign, many companies continue |

| 19 | 20 | | to relocate to the Lone Star State for its business-friendly |

| 20 | 21 | | environment and proven record of growth in a wide range of |

| 21 | 22 | | industries, including aerospace, health care, technology, and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | transportation; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, By bringing together highly experienced executives |

| 24 | 25 | | and professionals to work toward a common goal, the Texas Consilium |

| 25 | 26 | | is helping to bolster a crucial component of our state's economy, |

| 26 | 27 | | creating more jobs and greater prosperity for Texas residents; now, |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor the Texas Consilium for its significant |

| 31 | 32 | | with the organization be extended sincere best wishes for continued |
