| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Fred P. Nardini is retiring as county commissioner |

| 6 | 7 | | for Precinct 2 of San Patricio County on March 31, 2017, and this |

| 7 | 8 | | occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize him for his |

| 8 | 9 | | many achievements; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, During his five terms on the commissioners court, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Fred Nardini has worked tirelessly to address the needs of his |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | fellow citizens; his commitment to his duties has included |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | attending the V. G. Young Institute of County Government |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Commissioners Court Leadership Academy and completing a number of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | additional courses through that program; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Nardini has also served as chair of the Regional |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Review Committee, as vice president of finance for the Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Conference of Urban Counties, and as the San Patricio County |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | representative to the Texas Conference of Urban Counties |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Aggregation Project; moreover, he has given of his time and talents |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | to the San Patricio County Economic Development Board, the De-Go-La |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | RC & D Board, the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Planning |

| 22 | 23 | | Organization, the Coastal Bend Council of Governments, and the |

| 23 | 24 | | County Judges & Commissioners Association of Texas Education |

| 24 | 25 | | Committee; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur as well, Mr. Nardini has |

| 26 | 27 | | co-owned and operated a number of local businesses, including a |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | meat market, a catering company, a pizza shop, and a U-Haul |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | dealership; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed the love and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | support of his wife of 54 years, Judy, and he takes immense pride in |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | their three children and four grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Fred Nardini's commitment to the highest standards |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | of his office has greatly benefited the citizens of San Patricio |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |

| 36 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 37 | 38 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Fred P. Nardini on his retirement |

| 39 | 40 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
