| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Boothe was appointed to the Katy City |

| 6 | 7 | | Council on March 3, 2017; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Katy since 1991, Ray Boothe previously |

| 8 | 9 | | served on the city's planning and zoning commission; when asked to |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | finish an unexpired term on the city council, he accepted the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | appointment, resigning his seat on the planning and zoning |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | commission; he intends to run for the office during a special |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | election on May 6; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Boothe is manager of and a commercial insurance |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | specialist for Boothe Insurance, where he works with his wife, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Shari; he holds a degree in accounting from The University of Texas |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | and previously served as an accounting supervisor for TransAmerica |

| 17 | 18 | | Mutual Fund Company; the proud father of four children, he has |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | coached a homeschool high school baseball team and volunteers with |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Memorial Ashford Little League; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Engaged in his community and dedicated to his |

| 21 | 22 | | profession, Ray Boothe is an inspiring civic and business leader, |

| 22 | 23 | | and he will no doubt bring equal commitment and energy to his new |

| 23 | 24 | | duties as a member of the city council; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Raymond Boothe on his appointment |

| 26 | 27 | | to the Katy City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
