| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Dennis Stanek retired from the West |

| 6 | 7 | | University Place Fire Department on January 11, 2017, after 43 |

| 7 | 8 | | years of dedicated public service; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of West University Place, Dennis Stanek |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | began his exemplary tenure with the department on July 1, 1973; he |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | started out as a firefighter and was quickly promoted, earning the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | rank of lieutenant in 1976; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his outstanding career, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Lieutenant Stanek worked tirelessly in support of the fire |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | department's mission to protect lives and property; he was one of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the first paramedics in the department, and he was instrumental in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | providing the city with its first ambulances, built out of |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | converted vans; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Stanek greatly benefited the residents of |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | West University Place through his professionalism and devotion to |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | public safety, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Dennis Stanek on the |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | occasion of his retirement from the West University Place Fire |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
