45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of Kirbyville have
67 served their community through a variety of volunteer projects, and
78 they are indeed deserving of special recognition; and
89 WHEREAS, The Cub Scout program is designed to help boys in the
910 first through fifth grades build character, learn practical skills,
1011 and perform volunteer service; as part of the Boy Scouts of America,
1112 the Cub Scout program is premised on the belief that helping youth
1213 to cultivate such core values as trustworthiness, helpfulness, and
1314 kindness is key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and
1415 productive society; and
1516 WHEREAS, Ably guided by Cubmaster Pamela Stanley, Pack 414
1617 planted trees at Sandy Creek Park in November 2016 to help replace
1718 those destroyed during severe storms earlier in the year; the
1819 members of the pack also sang carols to local nursing home residents
1920 during the holiday season; and
2021 WHEREAS, By volunteering their time and talents, the members
2122 of Cub Scout Pack 414 are enriching the lives of others and
2223 developing into thoughtful citizens who understand the importance
2324 of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby commend the members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of
2627 Kirbyville for their service to their community and extend to all
2728 those involved with the group sincere best wishes for the future;
2829 and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for the pack as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3132 House of Representatives.
