| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of Kirbyville have |

| 6 | 7 | | served their community through a variety of volunteer projects, and |

| 7 | 8 | | they are indeed deserving of special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Cub Scout program is designed to help boys in the |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | first through fifth grades build character, learn practical skills, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | and perform volunteer service; as part of the Boy Scouts of America, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | the Cub Scout program is premised on the belief that helping youth |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | to cultivate such core values as trustworthiness, helpfulness, and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | kindness is key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | productive society; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ably guided by Cubmaster Pamela Stanley, Pack 414 |

| 16 | 17 | | planted trees at Sandy Creek Park in November 2016 to help replace |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | those destroyed during severe storms earlier in the year; the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | members of the pack also sang carols to local nursing home residents |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | during the holiday season; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, By volunteering their time and talents, the members |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | of Cub Scout Pack 414 are enriching the lives of others and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | developing into thoughtful citizens who understand the importance |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend the members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of |

| 26 | 27 | | Kirbyville for their service to their community and extend to all |

| 27 | 28 | | those involved with the group sincere best wishes for the future; |
