| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Principal Celia Martinez of J. W. Caceres Elementary |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious honor acknowledges the |

| 9 | 10 | | contributions of outstanding leaders in the field of education from |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | throughout the state; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Martinez has been employed with the Donna |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Independent School District for more than four decades, and over |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the course of her distinguished tenure, she has served in a variety |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | of roles, including as a teacher, curriculum specialist, assistant |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | principal, associate principal, director of the General Education |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Development program and of the Teen Prevention Education Program, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and as supervisor of federal programs and of the bilingual |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | department; she has worked at Caceres Elementary School for the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | past four years; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Celia Martinez exemplifies the dedication and |

| 21 | 22 | | commitment to excellence that are the hallmarks of the best |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | educators, and she can indeed take pride in having enriched the |

| 23 | 24 | | lives of countless young Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Celia Martinez on her selection as |

| 26 | 27 | | the 2015-2016 Administrator of the Year by the Texas Educational |
