H.R. No. 980
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gregorio Vargas was presented with a Proud You're a
Picker Award by the Robstown Independent School District in
February 2017; and
WHEREAS, This accolade is given to district employees who
have gone above and beyond their usual responsibilities in order to
help a student, parent, volunteer, community member, or colleague;
and
WHEREAS, A teacher at Robstown High School, Gregorio Vargas
has distinguished himself through the exceptional kindness and
compassion he shows his students; he takes a genuine interest in
their concerns and offers them encouragement and advice for the
challenges they confront in their daily lives; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals who give generously of their time
and talents strengthen the organizations in which they work, and it
is a pleasure to recognize this dedicated professional for his
contributions to Robstown ISD; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Gregorio Vargas on his receipt of a
Proud You're a Picker Award from the Robstown Independent School
District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further

ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Vargas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
