5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Colonel Bradley T. Clair is completing his tenure as |

6 | 7 | | commander of the 4th Brigade Health Services, 100th Training |

7 | 8 | | Division, 80th Training Command, on June 11, 2017, and this |
---|
8 | 9 | | occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize his |
---|
9 | 10 | | distinguished service to his nation; and |
---|
10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A native of Los Angeles, Bradley Clair joined the |
---|
11 | 12 | | United States Army after graduating from high school, in 1975; |
---|
12 | 13 | | following assignments at bases in Washington state, Korea, and |
---|
13 | 14 | | Georgia, he was honorably discharged from active duty in 1978 and |
---|
14 | 15 | | went on to pursue a career in medicine; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Colonel Clair answered his country's call to duty |
---|
16 | 17 | | again in 2001; he joined the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps and was |
---|
17 | 18 | | assigned to the 1984th U.S. Army Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, |
---|
18 | 19 | | before being deployed in 2004 and 2005 to Germany, where he worked |
---|
19 | 20 | | as an internist and as a cardiologist; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Operation Iraqi Freedom occasioned another |
---|
21 | 22 | | deployment in 2007, during which time Colonel Clair was posted to |
---|
22 | 23 | | the 399th Combat Support Hospital in Anbar Province; there, he |
---|
23 | 24 | | helped run the ICU and a medical-surgical unit, worked in the |
---|
24 | 25 | | emergency room, and assessed the blood program; after completing |
---|
25 | 26 | | that mission, he was selected in 2008 to command the 4225th U.S. |
---|
26 | 27 | | Army Hospital in Helena, Montana; that assignment was followed by |
---|
27 | 28 | | command positions with the 6253rd U.S. Army Hospital in Mesa, |
---|
28 | 29 | | Arizona, the Western Medical Area Readiness Support Group, the U.S. |
---|
29 | 30 | | Army Reserve Medical Command, and, most recently, the 4th Brigade, |
---|
30 | 31 | | headquartered at Fort Sam Houston; and |
---|
31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed officer holds a master's degree in |
---|
32 | 33 | | strategic studies from the Army War College; among the many |
---|
33 | 34 | | decorations and awards he has received have been the Meritorious |
---|
34 | 35 | | Service Medal with two oak-leaf clusters, the Army Commendation |
---|
35 | 36 | | Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service |
---|
36 | 37 | | Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service |
---|
37 | 38 | | Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, and the Overseas Service |
---|
38 | 39 | | Ribbon; and |
---|
39 | 40 | | WHEREAS, In civilian life, Colonel Clair spent 23 years as a |
---|
40 | 41 | | partner with Northern California Medical Associates, and he |
---|
41 | 42 | | currently serves as a staff cardiologist with Sutter Health in |
---|
42 | 43 | | Lakeport, California; he is an alumnus of California State |
---|
43 | 44 | | University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology, and the |
---|
44 | 45 | | University of Guadalajara, where he completed his M.D.; and |
---|
45 | 46 | | WHEREAS, Colonel Clair has set an inspiring example for |
---|
46 | 47 | | others through his selfless devotion to his country and his |
---|
47 | 48 | | commitment to the highest ideals of the medical profession, and it |
---|
48 | 49 | | is indeed fitting that he be recognized at this time; now, |
---|
49 | 50 | | therefore, be it |

50 | 51 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

51 | 52 | | Legislature hereby honor Colonel Bradley T. Clair for his service |
---|
52 | 53 | | to the United States Army and Army Reserve and extend to him sincere |

53 | 54 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
