9 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 261.304(b), Family Code, is amended to | |
11 | 9 | read as follows: | |
12 | 10 | (b) An investigation under this section may include a visit | |
13 | 11 | to the child's home, unless the alleged abuse or neglect can be | |
14 | 12 | confirmed or clearly ruled out without a home visit, [and] an | |
15 | 13 | interview with and examination of the child, and an interview with | |
16 | 14 | the child's parents. In addition, the department may interview any | |
17 | 15 | other person the department believes may have relevant information. | |
18 | 16 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | |
