                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 9, 2017      TO: Honorable Lyle Larson, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1085 by Bettencourt (Relating to the certification of unopposed candidates for the board of directors of the North Harris County Regional Water Authority.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Section 2, Chapter 1029, Acts of the 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 relating to the action on certification of unopposed candidates. The bill would apply to the North Harris County Regional Water Authority. The bill would allow the secretary of state may proscribe any additional procedures necessary to accommodate the voting. The secretary of state estimates any cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
