A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the placement on a ballot of a proposition to amend the
state constitution.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 274, Election Code, is
amended by adding Section 274.004 to read as follows:
Sec. 274.004. PLACEMENT ON BALLOT. A proposition
submitting a proposed constitutional amendment must be placed
before all parties, offices, names, and other propositions on the
ballot.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
