11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 24, Government Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 24.6006 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 24.6006. 462ND JUDICIAL DISTRICT (DENTON COUNTY). The | |
14 | 14 | 462nd Judicial District is composed of Denton County. | |
15 | 15 | SECTION 2. Section 25.0634, Government Code, is amended by | |
16 | 16 | amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as | |
17 | 17 | follows: | |
18 | 18 | (b) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a [A] county | |
19 | 19 | criminal court has no jurisdiction over civil, civil appellate, | |
20 | 20 | probate, or mental health matters. | |
21 | 21 | (c) The County Criminal Court No. 4 of Denton County has | |
22 | 22 | jurisdiction over mental health matters. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. The 462nd Judicial District is created on | |
24 | 24 | January 1, 2019. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
