10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 544, Transportation Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Section 544.0025 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 544.0025. PLACING AND MAINTAINING SIGNAL FOR EMERGENCY | |
14 | 14 | VEHICLE ENTRY ONTO HIGHWAY IN A MUNICIPALITY. The manual and | |
15 | 15 | specifications adopted under Section 544.001 must provide for the | |
16 | 16 | placement and maintenance of a traffic-control signal as described | |
17 | 17 | by Section 544.007(a) that permits an emergency vehicle to safely | |
18 | 18 | enter a highway in a municipality at a location to be determined by | |
19 | 19 | the municipality. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
