A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to notice of facility fees charged by freestanding
emergency medical care facilities.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 241.252, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
(c-1) The notice posted as required by Subsection (c)(1)
must be on a sign that:
(1) includes the information required by Subsection
(b) in both English and Spanish;
(2) appears in contrasting colors with block letters
at least one inch in height; and
(3) is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly
visible to the public.
SECTION 2. Section 254.155, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows:
(b-1) The notice posted as required by Subsection (b)(1)
must be on a sign that:
(1) includes the information required by Subsection
(a) in both English and Spanish;
(2) appears in contrasting colors with block letters
at least one inch in height; and
(3) is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly
visible to the public.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
