10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 13.146, Water Code, is amended to read as | |
12 | 12 | follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 13.146. WATER CONSERVATION PLAN. The commission shall | |
14 | 14 | require a retail public utility that provides potable water service | |
15 | 15 | to 3,300 or more connections to: | |
16 | 16 | (1) submit to the executive administrator of the board | |
17 | 17 | a water conservation plan based on specific targets and goals | |
18 | 18 | developed by the retail public utility and using appropriate best | |
19 | 19 | management practices, as defined by Section 11.002, or other water | |
20 | 20 | conservation strategies; | |
21 | 21 | (2) designate an employee as the water conservation | |
22 | 22 | coordinator responsible for implementing the water conservation | |
23 | 23 | plan; and | |
24 | 24 | (3) identify, in writing, the water conservation | |
25 | 25 | coordinator to the executive administrator of the board. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
