| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 662.065 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 662.065. LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION DAY. (a) | |
| 13 | 13 | January 9 is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. | |
| 14 | 14 | (b) Law Enforcement Appreciation Day may be regularly | |
| 15 | 15 | observed in public schools and other places. The Texas Education | |
| 16 | 16 | Agency shall develop recommendations for the observation of Law | |
| 17 | 17 | Enforcement Appreciation Day through appropriate activities in the | |
| 18 | 18 | public schools. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
