66 AN ACT
77 relating to the eligibility of certain persons younger than 18
88 years of age to preregister to vote.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 13.001(b), Election Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 (b) To be eligible to apply for registration, a person must,
1313 on the date the registration application is submitted to the
1414 registrar, be at least 17 years [and 10 months] of age and satisfy
1515 the requirements of Subsection (a) except for age.
1616 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
