A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the cost of transporting a body for the purpose of
performing an autopsy.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Article 49.10(h), Code of Criminal Procedure, is
amended to read as follows:
(h) The commissioners court shall pay a reasonable fee for
the transportation of a body to and from a place where an autopsy
can be performed under this article if a justice of the peace orders
the body to be transported for the purpose of an autopsy [to the
place].
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
