46 AN ACT
57 relating to the amount of compensation and allowances of a county
68 auditor in certain counties.
79 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
810 SECTION 1. Section 152.032(d), Local Government Code, is
911 amended to read as follows:
1012 (d) The amount of the compensation and allowances of a
1113 county auditor in a county subject to this subsection may be set in
1214 an amount that exceeds the limit established by Subsection (a) if
1315 the compensation and allowances are approved by the commissioners
1416 court of the county. This subsection applies only to:
1517 (1) a county with a population of more than 108,000 and
1618 less than 110,000;
1719 (2) a county with a population of 120,000 or more,
1820 excluding a county subject to Subsection (b);
1921 (3) a county with a population of more than 1,000 and
2022 less than 23,000 that borders the Gulf of Mexico; [and]
2123 (4) a county with a population of more than 11,000 and
2224 less than 11,650; and
2325 (5) a county that:
2426 (A) borders a county with a population of more
2527 than one million; and
2628 (B) has a population of more than 36,000 and less
2729 than 40,000.
2830 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2931 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3032 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3133 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3234 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
