46 AN ACT
57 relating to financial accountability standards for charter schools
68 operated by a public institution of higher education.
79 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
810 SECTION 1. Section 39.082, Education Code, is amended by
911 adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows:
1012 (e-1) The financial performance of a charter school
1113 operated by a public institution of higher education under
1214 Subchapter D or E, Chapter 12, shall be evaluated using only the
1315 indicators adopted under this section determined by the
1416 commissioner by rule as appropriate to accurately measure the
1517 financial performance of such charter schools.
1618 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1719 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1820 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1921 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2022 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
